Hello everyone that reads the forums,
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas for some type of shorts or something that would work as LARP garb. All of the games and movies I look at have the men completely covered, which is great if you are protecting yourself from real weapons, but not very great while you are larping. When the only biggest real danger you face is the sun, how must I dress to not overheat AS WELL AS not look like I don't belong in the LARP? Pictures and descriptions are welcome.

Kilts are a fantastic thing... but, wearing a kilt properly means no undies... But, nobody needs to know if you're wearing undies or not. Just be careful how you fall or sit. I've been looking into having a kilt made for me.
Anything loose fitting is great. Wrap pants like the NPCs wear are nice. You can turn those into shorts, too, by tying up the ends of the legs above your calf or knees.
Light colored garb helps to disperse some of the heat from Bob. (my name for the sun) Yeah, I know that light colors get really dirty. But, I feel that a little dirt staining on the garb gives it great character.

If you want to know the full truth/story about kilts, it's not so simple. www.tartansauthority.com/highland-dress/modern/how-to-wear-the-kilt/whats-down-under/the-real-story/www.tartansauthority.com/highland-dress/modern/how-to-wear-the-kilt/whats-down-under/You can buy kilts in stores or online. You don't have to spend a lot of money you don't have to have a kilt made. Please read the above articles first, though. It is also traditional to wear knee-high socks, which defeats the purpose if you are trying to keep cool. Are you talking about those weird pants Ed is always wearing? That is basically a maxi skirt with pants built in underneath. You guys will be less overheated if you just made or bought a maxi skirt that is that loose. You wear shorts underneath anyway. Why wear so many pants? It is a very important thing for me to wear dark clothing. It does not have to do with not getting dirty as much as it has to do with other stuff.
